FAQ’s

WHAT’S THE VALUE IN PAYING FOR A TOUR?

You’ll have a designated driver while you get to relax and enjoy the scenery of the rolling hills of Tennessee. You won’t get lost, you’ll get to mingle and make friends with fellow tour companions, and carpooling is environmentally friendly.

DO YOU SELL BOOZE ON THE BUS?

Negative. That is illegal, but a rolling liquor store isn’t a half bad idea. You’ll be able to purchase your favorites at the distilleries.

MINIMUM/MAXIMUM PARTICIPANTS PER TOUR?

We can have up to as many friends as you have or as few as a dozen passengers. If you feel like spending some cash, we’ll even take two folks. Just let us know, and we’ll see what we can do.

SHOULD WE TIP THE TOUR GUIDES?

That’s up to you. If the guides do a good job then sure. If not, then no.

HOW LONG ARE THE TOURS?

Most last 6-7 hours. It’s kinda like a workday…only you’re not working. We can do shorter, we can do longer.

DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE TOURS?

Absolutely! Office field trips. Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties, Birthdays. Check out our Private Whiskey Adventures for more information and booking.

HOW MUCH DO TOURS COST?

Depends on the tour. Custom pricing is also available for private tours.

CAN I BRING MY KIDS?

Sorry. This is an adults-only excursion.

DO YOU OFFER GIFT CARDS?

Yes, we sure do.

CAN WE DRINK ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON THE BUS?

Yes, it is permissible on the bus, but never outside of the vehicle. In Tennessee, you must be 21 to legally imbibe (on the bus and off). But don’t over-serve yourself, or you might be hitchhiking back to Nashville.

WHAT ABOUT WATER?

Hydration is important, but we no longer provide single use plastic water bottles. It’s not a good look for the environment. Plus, whiskey is essentially 40-50% water. Drink whiskey.

WHERE DO WE EAT FOR LUNCH?

Usually, we have prearranged eating spots like a good BBQ joint or perhaps some hot chicken. In some cases, you will be free to explore a stopping point and fend for yourself or you can pack a lunch and we’ll gladly store it for you on the bus. Bottom line: everyone gets to eat.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK A TOUR?

If you’re interested, you should book quickly. Tours do fill up far in advance.

IS THE BUS A BIG YELLOW SCHOOL BUS?

“The wheels on the bus go ’round and ’round”…nope. It’s a nice, comfy, air-conditioned, non-smelly bus. You will approve.

I DON’T LIKE WHISKEY. SHOULD I STILL BOOK A TOUR?

Yes, because it’s fun and educational! If you hate fun and learning new things, then maybe not. We won’t try to convert you to a whiskey aficionado. Ok, yes we will, but we won’t be pushy. Some of these distilleries even have gin, vodkas, and other interesting spirits.

IS THERE A REFUND POLICY?

Effective for tours booked on or after 12/6/2023: FREE CANCELLATIONS for public tours. Cancellation requests must be made in writing via email at least 24 hours before the tour start. Emails must be sent to chip@tennesseewhiskeytours.com. If written communication isn’t received at least 24 hours in advance no refunds will be issued. Did you miss the bus? Don’t expect a refund. No shows will not be refunded. Tours run rain or shine, sleet or snow, hot or cold. Dress for the weather. Bring your rain gear. Tours may be altered or shortened due to weather, COVID, maintenance, or other reasons without notice. Tickets are transferable to another person should someone not be able to make the tour. If you booked before 12/6/2023 then your tickets are non-refundable.

Private tours/private transportation deposits and bookings are non-refundable. If given enough notice, we will try to resell your private tour to another party and refund any paid deposits.

IS YOUR BUS HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE?

The bus is not handicap accessible nor are most of the distilleries. However, please call us, with appropriate notice, to inquire about accessibility concerns.

DO YOUR BUSES HAVE BATHROOM?

Nope. Use the bathroom before the tour. We’ll be on the road about 1.5 hours or less.
